Effective January 1: Masks are Optional in VisArts’ Classrooms and Studios
Mixed Media Painting invites students to explore dynamic, layered surfaces through a combination of fluid painting techniques and mixed-media experimentation. Students will begin by creating richly ornate backgrounds using poured, dripped, and flowing paint methods, focusing on movement, color interaction, and texture. Once these foundations are established, they will layer on a variety of multimedia materials—such as drawing, collage, mark-making, and textural elements—to build depth and visual complexity. The class emphasizes process, experimentation, and personal expression, resulting in vibrant, multi-layered works that balance spontaneity with intentional design.
This class is for ages 14 and up.Â
