During this workshop students will have the opportunity to work with fused glass to create re-imaginings of winter. Losing Winter, is an upcoming solo exhibition of work by Lynn Cazabon that explores the changes between generational experiences of winter due to climate change. Students will read and listen to recorded memories of winter from long time residents of the Rockville community and use this as inspiration to create fused glass panels. The student’s work will be on view in Lynn’s exhibition from May 28 – August 8, 2021 in the Common Ground Gallery.
This workshop will be led by Kim Swanner, will be onsite in the VisArts classrooms, and is best suited for ages 8 and up. Those under 8 who would like to participate should have adult supervision with them. This workshop is free, participating artists will be able to keep their work at the end of Lynn’s exhibition.
