Relief refers to the process of printing that involves carving into a matrix, such as wood or linoleum, to create a raised surface on which ink is applied. In this class, students will learn how to design, transfer and carve designs onto wood-mounted linoleum blocks. They will also learn how to prepare relief ink for use and create gradients with two colors. Finally they will also learn how to properly print their design onto fabric.
