ThisĀ 3-class intermediate series will allow students to expand and experiment on what they practiced in the first series class (required) that met from Feb. 17-March 3.
For pen and ink: we will focus on a still life of two simple flower stems, similar to the magnolia shown here by artist Joe Cartwright. It will include setting up the page composition, doing the linework, and finally the brushwork.
For watercolor washes:
Students will learn the technique of “stretching” the watercolor paper. This is a common practice among professional watercolorists. It assures that your paper will remain perfectly flat as it dries. We will paint a landscape step by step, using inspirationĀ photos of the Smoky Mountains.
This class is for ages 14 and up.
Please use the Notes section on the registration form to list any accommodations you will need during the class.
