The illustration here represents the bare bones of a room so as to teach basic perspective. Students in the second class will embellish the room with color, accessories, more furniture, outdoor views, etc. At the end of this experience, they should easily be able to do a color study of a room in their own home or to make a painting gift to a friend or relative, of a special room in their home. We will look at the interiors painted by well-known artists such as David Hockney, Matisse, and Bonnard and illustrator Chris Van Allsburg (The Polar Express and many more).
