Elsabe Dixon’s exhibition at VisArts Gibbs Street Gallery (September 5 – October 14) focuses on honey, pollinators and bread. Baking and beekeeping are not only ancient spiritual/sacred crafts, but they are also the last frontier in a world that faces increasing food deserts because of pesticide and GMO contamination.

Sign-up for one hour with the artist in this guided workshop. Participants will witness a 10 minute performance and will then participate in three actions including:

press & squeeze
roll object to the left & right;
push forward, pull back
turn & repeat

*Each person will receive a loaf of bread to consume at the end of this action.

The prepared dough will then be delivered and baked at Great Harvest Bread Company in Rockville.
Friday participants can pick up their bread at VisArts on Saturday after 11 AM.
The baked bread from Saturday’s workshop will be available to be picked up at VisArts on Monday at 11 AM.
