DESCRIPTION:Discover the rich\, expressive world of oil painting in this comprehensive class designed for both beginners and those looking to deepen their skills. Over the course of the session\, students will explore four distinct painting styles and techniques\, gaining hands-on experience while building a strong foundation in oil painting. \nUsing a color chart as a reference\, students will learn how to mix and apply oil paints effectively to create depth\, mood\, and dimension. Each lesson will focus on a key area of practice\, including: \nComposition – How to thoughtfully arrange elements within the canvas for visual impactObservation & Form – Techniques to accurately shape and define objects and the space around themLayering & Glazing – How to build your painting through layers\, from underpainting to final detailsDetail Work – Adding texture\, contrast\, and refinement for a polished result \nStudents will also gain an understanding of proper brush care\, workspace setup\, and safe handling of materials. By the end of the class\, you’ll walk away with a series of completed studies—and the confidence to continue your oil painting journey. \nAll materials are provided\, but students are welcome to bring their own tools if preferred. \nThis class is for ages 14 and up. \nPlease use the Notes section on the registration form to list any accommodations you will need during the class. \nClasses require a minimum enrollment of four students. If classes must be cancelled due to low enrollment\, students will be informed three days prior to the start of the class and issued a full refund.
