Cosplay MakerSpace (Ages 11-17)

Has your tween or teen shown an interest in cosplay, but doesn’t know where to start or how to bring their ideas to reality? Do they want to learn how to use the same tools that professional cosplay makers use – as well as household items? Do they have an idea, but no place to put it into action?

Look no further! VisArts’ cosplay makerspace is for creators of all skill levels. We’ll provide guidance, space, and tools so that they can create costumes, design wigs, and make props!

Class 1

• Tips on creating paper patterns for foam and sewing projects. Safety procedures on using Xacto knife for cutting foam and hot glue

Class 2

• Sewing machine safety procedures

Class 3

• Safety tips on using Dremel tool and hand saw

Class 4

• Concealing foam projects with mod podge

Class 5

• How to style cosplay wigs.

Class 6-8

• Lab time

Children under 13 must be dropped off and picked up at their classroom by a parent, caregiver, or adult. 

Please use the Notes section during registration to list any accommodations your child may need during the class.

Classes require a minimum enrollment of four students. If classes must be cancelled due to low enrollment, students will be informed one week prior to the start of the class and issued a full refund.
