In this four-week workshop, students will explore the basics of color theory, while investigating the different properties of watercolors and oil pastels. This series of workshops is great for the beginner artist who wants to learn more about how colors interact with one another to create a variety of different hues.
This class is for students ages 14 and up. 

Week One:

Color Wheel using watercolors. Explore how to dull saturated colors. Techniques with wet on wet and wet on dry applications.

Week Two:

Painting with watercolors. Animals and mini landscapes.

Week Three:

Basics of Oil Pastels. Oil Pastel exercises, exploring shades, tints, and tones.

Week Four:

Drawing with Oil Pastels. Drawing a fruit still life.

Recommended Materials:

  • Oil Pastels
  • Watercolors
  • Watercolor brushes
  • Watercolor paper

Instruction will be provided through the Zoom platform. Students will need to have a webcam and the ability to download zoom on their computer, phone, or tablet. Once you register for the class, you will be sent an e-mail with the Zoom URL to log in to the class. Please provide a correct and viable e-mail address when registering as this is how you receive your link.
