Collage and Mixed Media

In this adult six-week workshop students will explore fundamental applications of collage techniques and history. Other techniques introduced will be printmaking, watercolor, and India ink applications. Students will come away from the class with a variety of different projects ranging in textures and styles.  

Week One: Create a basic collage with magazine clippings inspired by Dadaism, learning the history and some of the notable Dada collage artists.  

Week Two: Creating an assemblage with the help of tracing paper and fabric, combining materials such as sharpies and color pencils.  

Week Three: Using moldable foam stamps to create patterns on paper and by doing so, creating either a piece of art or wrapping paper for a present 

Week Four: Introducing linoleum block printmaking and creating either a figurative or design of your choice. 

Week Five: Continuing with printmaking, combing watercolors to add color to your prints 

Week Six: Introducing India Ink to create a three-dimensional space scene
