Collage and Mixed Media

Instructor:

Virginia Warwick

In this six-week adult workshop, students will explore the fundamentals of collage techniques and their history, along with printmaking, watercolor, and India ink applications. By the end of the class, students will have a range of projects in different textures and styles.

  • Week One: Create a basic collage with magazine clippings inspired by Dadaism, learning about its history and notable Dada collage artists.
  • Week Two: Make an assemblage using tracing paper, fabric, sharpies, and color pencils.
  • Week Three: Use moldable foam stamps to create patterns on paper, making art or gift wrap.
  • Week Four: Learn linoleum block printmaking and create a figurative or design piece of your choice.
  • Week Five: Continue printmaking, adding watercolors to your prints for color.
  • Week Six: Use India ink to create a three-dimensional space scene.

This class is for ages 14 and up.

Please use the Notes section on the registration form to list any accommodations you will need during the class.

Classes require a minimum enrollment of four students. If classes must be cancelled due to low enrollment, students will be informed one week prior to the start of the class and issued a full refund.
