Chinese Brush Painting Demonstration with Bertrand Mao

Join us on Sunday, June 11 from 1-2:30 PM in the Concourse Gallery to view VisArts Studio Artist Bertrand Mao demonstrate this traditional Chinese painting method.

Mao has studied and practiced traditional Chinese Shan-Shui painting and calligraphy for more than sixty years. He’s demonstrated and lectured at universities, libraries, art centers, the National Asian Art Museum, and the National Gallery of Art, and recently filmed a demonstration and lecture for the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art’s Centennial Celebration.

Bertrand Mao and Lin-Lin Mao’s exhibition, Traditional and Contemporary, is on view in the Concourse Gallery through June 14, 2023.
