Effective January 1: Masks are Optional in VisArts’ Classrooms and Studios
Discover a distinctive visual language of expression. This class begins with the fundamentals of brush and ink—learning composition, layout, and how to convey mood in traditional Chinese painting.
From there, you’ll explore techniques for portraying classic subjects such as mountains and rivers, flowers and birds, and human figures. We’ll also bring these skills into everyday life—applying them to capture the scenery, people, and plants around you.
Whether you’re new to painting or have prior experience, you’ll discover fresh ways to express yourself through an art form rooted in Chinese philosophy and aesthetics.
Students will have access to instruction in both English and Chinese during this class.
This class is for ages 14 and up.

Classes require a minimum enrollment of four students. If classes must be cancelled due to low enrollment, students will be informed three days prior to the start of the class and issued a full refund.
