Effective January 1: Masks are Optional in VisArts’ Classrooms and Studios
In this class, you’ll explore different ways to build clay sculptures and learn what makes a successful sculptural piece.
You’ll use traditional hand-building techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab construction, along with some innovative methods to challenge and expand your ideas about ceramic sculpture.
You’ll also learn about a full range of ceramic finishes—including underglazes, terra sigillata, glazing, and firing techniques—to help you connect surface and form in your work.
This class is for students ages 14 and up.
