Join artist and curator Reni Gower for a free lecture, COLLECTive Concerns: Collage and Assemblage.

Citing works from Pablo Picasso to Nick Cave, Gower will discuss the rich history of collage and assemblage as powerful tools used by many artists to address acute sociopolitical issues of their times.

Gower will also summarize her newest curatorial project, COLLECTive Concerns: Collage and Assemblage, which features 12 contemporary artists aesthetically and conceptually linked to this compelling legacy.

Students are invited to sign up for Gower’s associated Master Craft Workshop, Motif Matrix/Collage, which explores collage through the lens of Sacred Geometry.

This lecture is offered through VisArts’ Center for Craft Studies. Registration is underwritten by a grant from the Windgate Foundation.
