This class series provides a safe, non-judgemental space to explore the inner self through art creation and is facilitated by Ronny Kempenich, a licensed art therapist and clinician.
What to Expect:
This group is not an art class, but rather a therapeutic opportunity to use art materials to express and explore feelings that may not be able to accessed through words. No prior art experience is required, only a desire to explore the inner self with art. Art therapy is all about the process, the end result is much less important. This class is capped at 8 members to encourage connection and positive outcome
Each session will be divided into 3 parts:
Part 1- check in, welcome and discussion of the day’s art activity; part 2- art making; part 3- sharing of experience and art. Sharing of art is not required; each participant will decide if and what they feel comfortable sharing.
Some of the possible themes that will be explored through art making are: mindfulness, self-awareness, self-esteem, self-compassion, connections, identity, and emotional resources. Some of the abundant art materials used throughout the class include: collage, watercolors, markers, pastels, acrylics, mixed media, color pencils, etc.
