Effective January 1: Masks are Optional in VisArts’ Classrooms and Studios
If you’ve got the basics down and you’re ready to level up your handbuilding, this class is for you.
We’ll explore slab construction techniques to create strong, functional pottery—with demos, guidance, and support as you take your skills further.
Requisite: This class is designed for returning VisArts students or those who’ve completed our Beginning Handbuilding class. Students with a solid foundation in basic ceramic skills may also test into the class. If you’re brand new to clay, we recommend starting with Beginning Handbuilding first.
Please buy clay prior to your first class; it will be waiting for you on the first day.

Each student is assigned a shelf for the course. Please clear it on your last day, unless you’re continuing with another class.
This class is for ages 14 and up.
